(Past project) A Little Free Library at Chicano Park dedicated to Isabel Sanchez and Jacqueline Ayala, founding members of REFORMA San Diego LIBROS and Chicano Park, Library Staff and Community Organizers;
Create an amazon wishlist for a wide variety of bilingual books to be distributed through LIBROS.
Focus on library services for new immigrants: Create bookmarks to be distributed to new immigrants with information on what information services libraries provide
Create professional development opportunities for library staff (union 101, bilingual storytime basics, etc)
Create a program to recruit library professionals (talks to school about what library professionals do, library tours ect)
Award annual scholarships that supports graduate students pursuing an MLIS and library workers in any education program.
Plan, develop, and execute social mixers (Summer new board welcome, Scholarship award dinner, LIBROS After Party at Creando Enlaces).
Provide mini virtual workshops (interviews, writing resumes, networking opportunities, how do you stay in the know for job opportunities ect)
Advertise job postings, online, physically and through word of mouth.
Support Children in Crisis through annual bookdrives for bilingual books
Support bibliotequita colibri at Centro cultural.
Create a community partners list or organizations that work with libraries and specifically the Latino community.
Collaborate with local community organizations to enhance outreach efforts and spread information about available resources and programming.
